一切久远得难以测量。雨林的起点，无人知晓；雨林的终点，仍在延伸。树木倒下又生长；河水泛滥又退去；动物猎食、繁殖、死亡。在这里，岁月并非直线往前，而是以一种近乎永恒的方式，周而复始。 我其实很晚才发现，我们的国家公园竟然那么老了——1.3亿年，跟恐龙同期、比巴西亚马逊雨林还老。那是好几年前了。为了拍摄一部原住民纪录片，我第一次走进了慕名已久的彭亨州国家公园。全长110公里的淡比灵河（Sungai Tembeling），是进入雨林的入口。

(Everything is) old/ancient beyond measure. When did the forest begin, nobody knows; its end remains to be seen. Trees fall and rise; the tide comes and goes, Animals feed, breed, and die. Here, time is unyielding -- marching forward relentlessly, with an eternal quality, coming full circle.
